Last Week
Last week we answered the question of what a community is. We learned that it is the place in which you live. We spoke about places that you see in your community. Many of the children said that they have libraries, post offices, and parks in their communities. In addition to our reading series, we talked a lot about Advent. On Tuesday, to prepare for the whole school Advent prayer service on Wednesday, we showed the children a short video on the overhead about Advent. The children know that Advent means waiting for the coming of Jesus. The children are coloring their own Advent wreaths in class for each week until Christmas. They are very excited that Christmas is upon us!

This Week
Our class has been chosen to create a bulletin board in the main elementary hallway of the school. We will be creating a big Christmas tree, which the children will be creating. We will incorporate Jesus in the bulletin board as well. Our shape for the month of December is the star and the color is red.
